Presentation Description: Dan Montour (Intercultural Learning Program Specialist-OIA,) will be sharing his experience of using Applied Improvisation to better improve classroom engagement/participation, interpersonal skills for global engagement, and presentation skills. We will also discuss the interpersonal challenges and opportunities facing students in an increasingly isolated and virtual landscape. Finally, Dan will teach 3-4 Improv warm-ups you can use in your class or workshop. Participation expected.
Learning Objectives:
learn and then lead 3-4 Applied Improv Warm-Ups to be used in the classroom or group setting.
understand the importance of public speaking and interpersonal skills and how they pertain to undergraduates and international students.
better facilitate classroom discussions and encourage student participation.
