Leveraging International Alumni Networks for Students’ Professional Development

International alumni are uniquely placed to support students. As the U.S. job market and visa policies present increasing challenges for international students, international alumni can provide mentorship, professional and intercultural guidance, and connections for job opportunities. Purdue University has 90+ International Networks led by experienced alumni. We will discuss several Purdue alumni/student initiatives including a webinar series, recruitment initiatives, study abroad programming, and virtual mentorship program.
Learning Objectives:
After my presentation, attendees will learn how higher education institutions and alumni offices can collaborate to provide opportunities for students and international alumni.
After my presentation, attendees will be able to utilize technology to connect international alumni and students for mentorship.
After my presentation, attendees will learn how to engage alumni during study abroad and other international experiences for students' benefit.
