Strategies for Thriving While Learning and Training

Presentation Description:

We are invited to learn, grow, and train a changing professional cohort.  This session will explore strategies to make this time productive.  How can you pilot new activities and yet insure accuracy?  How do you balance people’s comfort with change, risk, and expanding responsibilities with the need to respond to new situations and deliver product?  Drawing from our experience in student and scholar advising we will give real life examples of what worked in training and assisting our staff and co-workers to feel confident and productive while learning new things and meeting client needs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Practical suggestions to help trainees problem-solve and use resources.
  • Ways to train through engagement while insuring accuracy
  • Reflect on how to balance what we know and what we don’t yet know.
